The Path Less Traveled: Continued

I started my Journey into the Entertainment Industry over 2 years ago. I began by getting my Bachelors in Game Design, I had no real intentions of using my degree and I am in fact still waiting for my degree as I pursue a Master’s Degree from the same university.  I was in no way shape or form ready to enter anything, I was in fact giving up on life.

Yes, it may seem odd to go to college when you’ve given up on life, so here is some context: I valued education and still do, I also valued the only thing I had left positive from my military service: my 9/11 G.I. Bill. If you have no idea what that is, it’s a grant that pays for most if not all my education and provides me with a living allowance every month. I had saved my G.I. Bill to use for when I figured out what I wanted to do in life outside the military. Yet, I never got to that point, instead I tried finding rock bottom, and when I thought I found it I grabbed a shovel to keep digging to make sure…and…I never discovered rock bottom, I could always go lower. I was ready to give up, the G.I. bill was the last thing I had of value in my life, and I expected to fail, so I was going to fail trying to be happy. Yet, I didn’t fail. I managed to graduate at that point I found myself in a state of confusion, life had been a rollercoaster, and I wanted to get off for so long, but then I stopped wanting to get off. I didn’t find a purpose, but I found a reason to live…all be it a tiny one, but a reason none the less. With that reason I decided to push my education further and acquire my Masters of Entertainment Business. Here I am tasked with creating a company, so the company I am creating is RaioCore which is at www.raiocore.com and have been stumbling my way through ever since.

I will say the tech side of life is far more comfortable and stress free than the combat side of life. Yet, spending your whole life in a state of defense, it’s hard to even enjoy it. So my journey through life has been far from typical, it’s better defined as falling up the stairs/ladder.  I am currently in my Marketing class for my degree so my updates will tend to reflect the class I am taking at the time.

Besides my class my most recent updates are that I quit drinking 2 years ago and stopped smoking a month ago. I hope this filler helps fill in some gaps to my story as I try and fill in the requirements for my classes and share my journey at the same time.

Take care and enjoy this wild adventure we call life, to the best of your abilities.
